Supportive Living

What is Supportive Living?

Supportive Living is a cost-effective combination of affordable housing and supportive services that help people live more stable, productive lives.

Supportive Living works well for persons who face the most complex challenges – individuals and families who are not only homeless, but who are mentally and/or developmentally disabled. Supportive Living can be temporary or permanent housing.  People living in shared housing sign leases and pay rent, just like their neighbors.

Why Supportive Living?

Supportive Living preserves neighborhoods, creates an affordable housing option and in some cases, saves the threat of foreclosure. Supportive Living creates structured living for persons who realize the benefits that come with living in a home-like environment.

Who uses Supportive Living?

A person in Supportive Living might be a senior citizen, a person with disabilities, a working professional, a veteran someone at-risk of homelessness, a single parent, a college student or simply a person wishing to share his or her life and home with others.
